Today I attended one of our clients (a large one, I might add) launch of both the new intranet, but also their brand new enterprise 2.0 platform – based on Incentive, of-course.
The agency that managed the project had produced a very professional video presenting the whole concept both in images and words – impressive!
I’m particularly satisfied with the clear line between the classic intranet and the more open and social part – it’s vital, in my opinion.
They use the wiki for setting up new projects, fast & easy – but also to scribble down personal notes. I’m very pleased to see that everyone is allowed to publish a new blog. No restrictions, total transparency AND they are allowed to communicate in any subject – not necessary connected to the business. Good decision to get the “social vibe” to flow in the organization.
The users were very positive and inspired! They immediately saw the benefits in one search for all information and the ease of use to create new content instead of going through a traditional publishing process.
The only “red flag” I raise is that they – as usual – tend to discuss the “old content” in the “new graphical interface” – instead of focusing on the new ways of communicating - or more rightly said – collaborate.
I spoke to one of the key persons after the launch to make sure that “we don’t get lazy” now right after the launch – I wanted to make sure that we kept the spotlight on searching for new champs and talents.
We really need them to make this a success. Nor the tool or technology will help us here – we need flesh & blood – we need individuals with no fear!
And I have every reason to believe we will succeed.
